Cogswap Ps2 Download Emulator

A PS2 (doesn't matter if it's a fat or slim1), a Sony PS2 Memory card (with about 4MB free space), a USB stick (you only need about 4MB free) and a cheat disk (like Action Replay Max or Codebreaker) or a legal copy of a game that's listed here to work (it'll be green if it works). How much is it going to cost me?

Well, it cost me about $9. I don't have a Memory card.

Got some links? YOU DON'T HAVE A MEMORY CARD?!?! I don't have any links but DO NOT TRY TO USE ANY FAKES!

Ps2

Some people have tried and its worked, but it doesn't always work and that just adds to the list of things that could cause issues. Once you get it running on a real memory card feel free to try and do it on a fake. My download for Action Replay is only a few more hours. You can't download any of them! If you could already boot burnt disks you wouldn't need to mod it in the first place. You only need it once so see if someone you know has one.

Fine, fine. Lets get started. Here's the hard part, each disk needs to do something diffident to boot.ELF's but I'll get on that later.

Elf's eh?.ELF is a type of file. It's like an.EXE for your PS2. Go on about getting the thing on.

Now download this. (Out of date but still works great.

If anyone wants to update it please post the link here.). Downloading. Good, now unzip it and put it on your USB stick. Your files are out of date. I have a life you know.

Just find out what files are out of date and replace the files with the new ones (use Google to find the files). Better, now take it out.

I'm not dumb you know. Just making sure. Now find a way to boot the.ELF file by going here. If you have 007 look here. I have put cheat/game disk name here, will it work? Just try it and hope for the best, don't waste your time asking here.

I can't buy everything to test. If you want a easy time get a Action Replay with USB support. Now boot the file named 'FREEMCBOOT.ELF'.

You'll see a nice menu now, go install it (by going to the tab that says 'install FreeMcBoot' and pressing 'X' or something like that)! If all goes well it worked! If not most likely you didn't have enough free space, so go delete some stuff then try again.

What software do I use to burn/rip my games?. Is there a guide for ripping/burning? Not really, but it's pretty easy.

Patch your.iso with this software (really easy, you can't mess up), download and install ImgBurn, then burn the disk at around 2.4x. You should be able to do that yourself. Any thing more I need to know? Use good disks and burn at x2.4. Crappy disks might hurt your PS2's laser over time. Thank you but all of this is just to hard for me. Can you do it?

Sadly I don't offer doing it for people anymore. Look here, you should be able to find someone who can do it for free. 1 The new PS2 slims (model number SCPH-900xx and over) do NOT work with this softmod! OLD GUIDE (out-dated, just here in case someone needs to do the independence exploit): EDIT: On the FreeMcBoot I'm a bit out-of-date so you'll need to look at the readme. EDIT2: You know what, there is a much better guide for this.

I will keep this guide here. You do NOT need a modchip to play backups on a PS2! I have a fat PS2 (it should work on all models fat or slim!) and I've softmoded it with only $8! All you need to buy is any PS1 disk, any MC card and a AR that can move (copy, cut, etc)(I think Codebreaker works as well) from a USB flash drive (I used a AR that was for moving files from PSP-to-PS2), all of this you can buy at your local game store! Now you run independencecompiler 4.1 (get it here but you do need to be a user) from your PC and do you steps it tells you (1.

Have the PS1 disk in the CD drive and get the code, 2, set the OS to uLE (go here and download the newest uLE) 3. Export the files for a MC card). Next you have a.xps file but a lot of the AR's can't copy files that aren't.max so now we convert the save file to.max using PS2SaveBuilder (Look for it here) 1. Open the.xps file with PS2SaveBuilder and save it as a.max file (or whatever your cheat disk reads). Just put the.max file we made (to find out what to name it, copy over the system file on the MC card, see what the name it and use that name), this file (the.elf file in there) and this one and rename it BOOT.ELF (the direct DVD version its a.elf).(if you want you can use CogSwap just like swap magic instead, you can get it here) on your USB flash drive (all in the same folder!!!). We copy that.max file over to the MC card using your AR 2. Put the PS1 disk in (the same one you used before) and uLE will boot up.

If you wanted you can stop here and just run the.elf file named ESR every time (but who wants that?!?). Run (from uLE under mass://) FREE MC BOOT and reformat your MC card like I did it make it work but with the new 1.5 it says you don't need to (I haven't tested it). Reboot your PS2 and see what it does, If it says ESR and goes black your good. The worst thing it can it do is make you reformat your MC card. (1.6 is out but I don't like it so stay with 1.5some people love it so maybe I'm wrong.). Your done on the PS2 side!

Now before you burn a disk read this! You need to patch the.iso file (the PS2 game) with ESR disc patcher GUI v0.24a before you burn it (it takes only 1 sec). Burn at x2.4 for the best playback on your PS2. You can copy and burn your PS2 using ImgBurn (I can't post it but you can google it)(DVD Decrypter is near the same). Don't use bad disks, they can kill your PS2 (can't read disk anymore)! (tested by a lot of people ) 5. This will not work with CD game's, only DVD game's; you can convert them.(Not tested) NOTES: 1.

What I just did is only on your MC card so if you take is out before booting the PS2 it will not work but you CAN move the MC Card to someones else PS2 and it will work. (not tested) 9. If you use Cogswap don't patch it! It won't work! (not tested) 10. You can still the MC card for saves! DVD-R's work on ALL PS2's, DVD+R's only work on newer PS2's.

Fbi 4600 user manual. (not tested) P.S. After all this you just put the disk in you PS2 and play!.If you want to add more programs: 1.

Add uLE and rename it 'BOOT1' 2. Add ANY of the programs (.elf) you want (HD loader, CogSwap, etc) 3.

Hold R1 when booting your PS2 4. Now you'll see something like my computer and now you run the file from here (if you need a step-by-step guide for this, your all lost) LINKS: (PS2 Emulators and more) (Lots of files but not up-to-date) (The best site for PlayStation hacks) (ESR) (Free MC Boot) (How to copy a PS2 game with ImgBurn it will work if you use MEMENTO DISC PATCHER instead of ESR disc patcher GUI v0.24a) (64MB Memory Card for PS2 only $9 bucks with Worldwide Free Shipping.

Doesn't work with this hack most likely.) (PS2 HD Loader; site not working now) (How to make your own PS2 homebrew) (What games work with ESR). I'm not so sure about his burn speed in step 3, but I will be starting to test this shortly myself. General consensus at psx-scene.com is to burn at the highest speed that you get reliable backups with good media, and seems to be in 6-8X neighborhood from the majority of posters using various media and burners in one thread.

BTW: The voodoo burn speed continuously mantraed at psc-scene is 4X, which is what started the above thread, but IIRC it was a sub-question of another main topic by the OP. Also don't forget to patch the backups before burning them to DVD or they just won't work, and with ESR CD games NEED to be converted to DVD format to work. From what I've read. Ps2 Emulator No Download Online

Thanks GhettoBeta59 Welcome. I used a different way of installing Free McBoot WITHOUT using 007: Agent Under Fire, which I couldn't find.

I used Cogswap to run a uLaunch DVD, then ran the FreeMcBoot installer from a USB stick. The game I used to launch Cogswap was FIFA2003 PAL Platinum Edition.

My PS2 is a Slim SCPH-77002, and I had covered the sensors for my swapping. I guess this could work for any game really, as all you are using is the games disc verification, but I have only tried this one. The guide I looked at recommended that the game you use have an LBA of over 1000000, check this using Apache.

Cogswap Elf

I couldn't get the standard disk swap + ELF replacement to work, but this did the trick. The process was to change the filesize of SLES5911.97 on my ripped ISO to match that of cogswap.elf(or driving.elf if you use my dl link), then rename cogswap.elf to SLES5911.97 and update the files on the ISO, all using Apache. I then burnt the updated ISO to a DVD-R. I then downloaded a uLaunch 4.12 DVD iso, and burnt that to a DVD. The last thing to prepare is a USB stick, formatted it to FAT32. I copied the necessary FreeMcBoot files to the USB drive, resulting in freemcboot.elf and an INSTALL folder in the root. It took me a while to figure out, but you only need to swap TWICE to get this working.

Thats original CD Cogswap original CD. I guess other people knew that already, but it was hard to glean from various tutorials. Put the original disk in the PS2, then wait until AFTER the Playstation2 screen comes up. The laser should be towards the centre of the disk here- IMMEDIATELY when it moves to the outer rim, swap to the Cogswap disk, then IMMEDIATELY when it goes back to the centre, change to the original disk. I tried swapping so many times before I tried this, now I can get it straight away. Your original disk should be in there at the end with cogswap on the screen.

The timing is sticky with this, practice for a while and you should get it. Press X in Cogswap to run your original disk, then when is says USE COGSWAP, put your uLaunch DVD in.

Navigate through the file browser to MASS which is your USB stick, and run freemcboot.elf. In the McBoot UI, select install.

Now you can turn off your PS2, take the disk out, and turn it on.there should be some nice extra menu options there for you! Now any time you want to play a burnt game, just put it in and turn on the PS2, and Mcboot will run it for you! Remember, burnt games must be patched using ESF patcher, it is included in the package. I used most stuff from EXCEPT uLaunch, I used 4.12.
