Operation and useFor more info about Swissphone and their productsBatteries - It uses AA batteries. Either standard alkaline, Ni-cad, or NiMH.Charger - The pager has a smart charging system. The pager knows how muchcharge each battery type needs and adjusts the battery statusindicator accordingly. Dry cells will be identified and will not becharged.Battery Status Indicator - Shows the level of the battery bya bar graph. As the battery is used the indicator goes down, so you always know how longyour battery will last. Once less than 10% of the battery liferemains the pager begins a reminder chirp and flashes the batteryindicator.Switch on/off - When a battery is inserted the pager will automatically turn on.

Swissphone Pager Re729

To turn the pager on/off manually both buttons must be helddown for about 4 seconds. When turning off, the pager begins aaudible beeping countdown (about 4 seconds), with a loud uniquechirp as the pager shuts off. This prevents accidental shut down of thepager.Keys - The pager has two keys located on the top corners of the housing. The keys are designed in such a way that it's easy to push themwearing gloves but hard to accidentally push them during normalhandling of the pagers.Alerts - The pager can hold 16 alert addresses.

Each addresscan be programmed to sound different, so there can be no confusionas to which alert was sent. This also can work in conjunction withthe display indicator to further indicate whothe alert was for (see below).Display- The LCD display has many uses:. The symbols across the top show the currentmode of operation: Alert - MiniBeep - Vibrate. In addition itshows if your in monitor mode or in non-monitor. Along the right side there are arrows thatpoint to a removable menu that you can customize (Example: ifthe Chiefs tone is alerted the 1st arrow will turn on pointingto the 'Chief'.

Or for example if the ambulance is alerted thenthe 3rd arrow points to 'Ambulance' or whatever you write on themenu). At the bottom right there is a slanted barthat indicated the volume level. It has 4 levels. The 'Envelope' symbol is used with VoiceStorage, it indicates you have a message in memory. The 'Y' antenna symbol indicated the fieldstrength of the reception.

If you go out of range the antennasymbol starts to flash. This only works on systems with cyclicaltransmission sensing. Illuminated background for night time operationProgramming features - In addition to the above the pagers can be programmed for an arrayof handy features. All of these are optional and are done with a PCprogramming kit.
